More About Erica Eller

I thrive as a self-employed copywriter through my strategic business planning, strong work ethic and niche expertise. I'm deeply committed to supporting activities that lead to a climate-resilient, sustainable future.

As a sustainability expert and copywriter, I specialize in ESG reporting and B2B thought leadership writing. I write for clients and agencies focusing on climate tech, ESG, sustainable finance and climate risk.

I have worked with Fortune 500 companies, fast-growing start-ups and sustainability-linked non-profit organizations as a full-time self-employed copywriter since 2019.

My work has covered a wide range of industries including steel manufacturing, IT, banking, financial services, green building, commercial real estate, retail, solar engineering and energy, IoT, ESG SaaS companies, ESG consultants, research non-profits and more.

In 2026, I decided to expand my services to include strategic consulting services for my clients. These services aim to help clients simplify assessments, strategy development and reporting compliance through expert consulting and easy-to-implement workflows and guidance.

A glimpse beyond my work

I grew up in Spokane, Washington, on a plot of forested land, home to woodland creatures of all kinds. I have always felt a strong connection to nature and the importance of clean air, water and soil to our health. I've spent lots of time hiking, camping, backpacking, fishing, clam digging, lake swimming and skiing to enjoy the great outdoors.

For the past 20 years, I've lived in major cities (San Francisco, Istanbul and now Berlin) and support urban sustainability, too. I support the use of public or clean mobility options (I don't own a car, but frequently travel by bike), and I spend time in city parks, enjoying the natural beauty of green spaces.

Outside of my work, I spend time with my husband and cat. I'm passionate about language learning and have foreign language skills in Turkish, German, Spanish and Japanese. I cultivate my interest in slow fashion by sewing using natural fibers or designer dead stock, and I share my work at @erica_sews_slow on Instagram. I also keep a long-distance running routine as a form of self-care.

In the past, I have pursued deep interests in literature, art and music that are still on the back burner. I have sold freelance illustration commercially, I hold MAs in Creative Writing and English Literature and I studied music seriously as the recipient of a full-ride scholarship for piano performance during my undergrad degree.

To deepen my commitment, I’m exploring options to earn a third master’s degree related to sustainability management. I also regularly network with other experts and freelancers in the space, actively supporting their entry into the growing field of sustainability reporting and strategy.
